Jimmy was a sweeheart, as a matter of fact he my my first high chool dance date, he asked me to the Freshman dance I can still see him walking up my front porch steps carrying a clear plastic flower box. Jimmy's mother had made me a "special" coursage, It was made from very ususual material and I kept it long after I was married because it was so special and also since it as an everlasting memory of Jimmy after his death. His mother also made me a maroon and white stuffed animal, which I still have roday. I can still see us sitting in the backset of his mother's car as she drove us to the dance and she was also first in line after the dance to pick us up, those were sweet wonderful times.
Jimmy was an only, adopted son of two very wonderful people and when I learned of his death I so greived for them ~Jimmy was their life and they were so proud of him.
When I visited the Vietnam wall in DC, as well as the traveling wall, I etched him name and I still have those renderings, he will never be forgotten.
JAMES EDWARD NEUMEYER you did indeed die a hero, you will always have a place in my heart.
I had several classes with Jim at BTHS. Looks like we were in NAM about the same time. Sorry to learn of his passing. Thank you for your service my brother. Rest in peace.
I didn't know Jim but would recognize him in the hallway of BTHS. I think that it's so great that we have this on our class' website. Thank you so much for serving our beloved country & giving all. I was fortunate & was able to give some. Thomas A. Frank
I am posting this comment years after I should have for a brother service member. It pained me greatly to learn that Jim died in that horrible, tragic accident on the flight deck of the carrier Forrestal in 1967 along with many other sailors. It's been almost 56 years. I really didn't know Jim other than to recognize him when I saw him and maybe say "Hi", but I'm sure he died a hero trying to save his shipmates and the ship. I pray you met your reward in heaven. Charlie.

James honored me with asking me to be his girl! However, I was not ready for anything serious, I wanted to continue school.
I am thankful for the person or people who cared this much for such a young man as he was when his life was taken while aboard the ship.
"To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD".
GOD BLESS THIS "patriot"!!!
Yours,

Jim was one of the most fun guys that I knew as a senior. Always wanted to have a party, and we had quite a few (partys)..
I was sad to learn that he died in Nam. He was a GOOD person, and very generous. I am sure he died a Hero.
Rest In Peace Jim.

Jim and I grew up in the same neighborhood but lost track in high school. He definitely had the make up of a patriot.
God Bless you Jim
