Buddy was a friend of mine since Bunsen Grade School. He was just a real character....should have had his own reality TV show. Remembering the times we had together definitely makes me smile. We all miss him.

Buddy was "somethin' anuther" (his expression)!  He was an outragious, unpredictable, wild man and yet very dear.  Our families went back 100 years as our grandmothers went to school together.  In his later years he was doing karaoke in local bars and it seemed like he was also always trying to sell something out of the trunk of his car.  I have many funny memories of Buddy and as goofy as he could be underneath he really did have a sweet heart.

In his last years he was somewhat disabled (on oxygen, difficulty walking) but he often came by our house to visit and not feeling up to getting out of his car we would just visit in the driveway.  My husband, Stan, was also one of the guys who helped Buddy make his 1949 Chevy Turtleback into a convertible.

Stan is always busy working on something.  When Buddy felt up to it, he would want to help.  Stan would always find something that he felt Bud could handle.  One day, much to my surprise, I walked out in the yard and Buddy was sitting on a stool with a paint can in one hand and a brush in the other painting a fence and feeling very productive.  That is just one special memory I have of him.

I am sure that Heaven is a much livlier place now that Buddy has arrived.

We really miss him.

I am another Bunsen grade school friend of Buddys. We remained friends through all grades and beyond. I didn't know that Arthur Mann helped Buddy make his hardtop a convertible...by using a blowtorch or something?? But it was the best. Seeing Buddy driving it that first time is still a special memory of mine.

I remember when Buddy cut the top off of his car because he wanted a convertible. I told him your crazy

what are you going to do when it rains, Buddy said I'll use a umbrella. Sure enough it started to rain a few

days later and here comes Buddy driving his car with the umbrella. I never laughed so hard in all my life.

Buddy was one of a kind and I'm a better person for having known him.

I remember Buddy, too, from Bunsen school.  What a character, indeed!  But he was so down to earth and that's what I loved about him.  He brings back fond memories and is dearly missed!

Buddy was indeed a character and wherever he went he made people laugh.  He had a kind heart and was fun to be around.  He is missed by all who knew him.

Buddy was a great guy, a one of a kind type person - what you saw is what you got with Buddy. I have never forgotten Buddy's first car, his "Passion Wagon" as he called it.; it was his Plymouth Station Wagon.

We did not have a lot of money back in those days, so to keep his car running (which was an oil burner and need a valve job) he would get all of us to kick in so he could buy sump oil (second hand oil) from filling stations when his car ran low on oil - he always carried 2 - 3 gallons in the back of his car. You always knew when he was around for the smoke cloud that would follow his car. When he ran low on gas he would pull out a hose and a gas can that he always carried and help himself to gas from a near by car.

Those were the days and so sorry to hear of his passing.

RIP Buddy
