Another Franklin School classmate that has passed. I didn't see Kent much through the years. In his last days he owned and operated K J's Saloon on South Illinois Street. (It was called the "Concertina" when we were growing up. Right across the street from the old railroad station.) He fought his battle with courage. He is remembered.
Kent Meyer was a friend of mine all through high school, junior-college, and many years past that until his passing in 2005. He was a real character, and very unique and inventive, and most of all really funny. I really miss not being able to call him up, he would always make me laugh. Thanks for posting that video of Kent. It took me a long time to find it. I agree that Kent was surely a unique individual who knew how to make people laugh Wouldn't it be great to have videos of all of our old friends.
