Jimmy and I were really good friends during the 7th & 8th grade and freshman year. I often spent the weekends at his house swimming and boating on Pin Oak Lake in Swansea. His parents taught me how to water ski on Crab Orchard Lake where we frequently went camping. His parents were so much fun. JoAnn Griesmeyer is Jimmy's cousin and usually joined us in our water activities. Jimmy was one of the nicest, sweetest guys I have ever known. It was not fair that he died so young. I will always remember our fun times as young boys just having a great time with no worries and talking about girls. We were so innocent and naive then........could have made good use of the internet!

Jimmy was such a sweet soul.  We met when my family moved to Union School district when I was in the 6th grade.  Jimmy lived just three doors from me but for some reason he had to go to Henry Raab.  Jimmy's mom, JoAnn Griesmeyer's (Jimmy's first cousin) mom and my mom had quite a history as they had all gone to school together.  We became instant friends along with JoAnn because I was going to Union with her.  We did lots of bike riding, swimming in his lake and our friendship remained throughout his life.  He left two beautiful daughters behind.  Jimmy had a unusually kind and loving spirit.

To Aunt Dodo, Chuck and JoAnn:  Please know that you are never alone in missing him.

I, too, met Jimmy through his cousin JoAnn. My fondest memory of Jimmy was roller skating every week in the gym of one of the elementary schools...maybe Franklin? In my eyes, at the tender age of 10, 11, 12, I was skating with Paul Newman. Jimmy had clear blue eyes and the sweetest smile. He was such a kind soul.
