I have known Dick since Bunsen gradeschool. We were good friends and hung out with Barb Wittlich, Bob Mckelvey and Susan Smallwood to name a few. He has always been a kind fun loving person and a great family man. I'm glad I was able to spend some time with him at the last class reunion. I'm going to miss him. RIP, Dick.

I got to know Dick in our Freshman year when we  participate in several sports together but I remember him most from track . He was tall so Coach Tabor had him doing the hurdles, long jump, high jump and pole vault that had him running all over the track to keep up with his events. I remember him say on the bus coming back from our first away event he didn't know he had signed up for the 100 yard dash as well. We have stayed in touch since our 50th reunion but regret not recently. He was one of those that once you meet him you never forget him, a gentle giant, RIP Dick you will be missed my friend .........

I first meet Dick as a fellow life guard @ Belleville Swimming Pool.  He was always even tempered & alert for swimmers in trouble.  I recall summer 1963 when we had about 10 days with no rain.  We finally got a break & Alex Zaber called an impromptu guard party.  It rained quite hard for just over an hour so there were puddles outside the fence @ the base of the hill.  Dick doffed his suit & went into the mud puddle.  He got back on the pool deck looking like a Roman statue.  I think it was Reunion 35 when Dick, Mike Brauer,  one other guard , & I were able to get in a picture.

RIP, Dick
