Sharon K. Gambill

Sharon K. Gambill, 77, of Overland Park, passed away March 11, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, March 17th in the Wesley Chapel at Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood. A reception will follow in the Student Center.    Private interment will take place at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation or to Midwest Transplant Network.

Sharon was born on January 2, 1946 in St. Louis, MO to Galvester and Lillian (Schuechart) Rehmus.  She grew up in Belleville, IL and worked as a registered nurse for several years.  She married Leonard Gambill on October 1, 1966.  After her sons were born, Sharon became a stay-at-home mom, moving to the Kansas City area in 1976.

Sharon was very active in her church, volunteering and hosting Bible studies.  She loved cooking, having parties, and traveling with Len, who preceded her in death in 2014.

Sharon is survived by her two sons and their wives:  Kevin Gambill (wife Lori) and Jay Gambill (wife Trish); grandchildren:  Alex, Nicole, A. J. and Charlie Gambill; and one brother, Terry Rehmus.
