Donna will be truly missed by those that had the pleasure to know her.  The one word that would describe Donna Gent was "sweet".  Donna was a wonderful friend and I had a long conversation with her in January.  She was much too young to leave us but I will always remember my kind, sweet friend.  My sincere condolences to her husband, her sons and her grandchildren.  We will miss you, Donna.

After my initial shock, I started to remember those wonderful Friday nights watching Donna lead our marching band off the field and coach Frala yelling at me because I watching Donna and not listening to him. Donna was always compassionate, never contentious, and never got involved in BTHS hyperbole. She was a lady without peer, the best of the best, and I hope she didn't suffer. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

I knew Donna from our days at Harmony school, to Emge, to bths and I never met another woman as nice as and kind and helpfull as her. When I met her at the reunion she was leaning heavely on her cane and I could tell she was in pain but she had fun and saw lots of old friends, but now she is with out pain and in God arms. I told Herb he was the luckyest SOB I ever met to have won her heart As long as they were married I feel so sorry for him he must be completly lost, I say that as an old married man my self. God help him and he has blessed her.

Everyone's comments here about Donna are so moving and caring. I remember her as a very sweet person with a wonderful smile. I too saw her at the 50th renunion and recall her using a walker or cane and moving very slowly. Donna was a nurse who had a very distinguished career caring for others. Nurses are some of the angels among us, and surely Donna was one of the most wonderful of them.

Just recently I'd tried to email Donna. Now I understand why I never heard back from her. To remember Donna requires a smile. From first meeting her in high school [I can remember where she and Barb (Mulhauser) Bailey sat in class!], she was soft spoken, kind, gentle, grateful, and, yesssss, Barb...sweet. She had an easy way about her and the ability to be present and listen, so it was almost surprising that she competed and succeeded as a majorette. Donna, you will be missed. Thank you for giving us what you could.

I found this photo of Donna Gent and Melvin Trotier dancing at one of the many Emge Class parties.  This was taken at a Christmas party at my house. (I've posted the whole picture on my profile page).  As many before have said, Donna was a gentle, kind soul.  We were cheerleaders together at Emge and she was always the best of all.
